11:30 - 12:00 Tech Talk: Informatics in Occupational Health: Considerations for Practice
This session will examine the role of the OHN or OH Professional in the management of health information in a workplace setting. We will discuss the significance of appropriate information management and provide examples on how nursing informatics affects service delivery.
About the Presenter:
Juanita House, RN,BN,OHNc,COHN,LNC
Juanita House is an Occupational Health Nurse Consultant who founded Eisan Consulting in 2005 becuase she 'just didn't fit in working for someone else and the Dibert cubible space didn't speak to her inner superstar'. Juanita's vision was to create a company that was devoted to assisting employers and employees in the prevention and management of occupational injury, illness & disability. Her mandate was to ensure Occupational Health Nurses were at teh forefront of that service.
Her career spans three decades with many stops in between. Stops that have allowed her the great opportunity to be mentored, to mentor, to teach and to volunteer. She is an SME and Instructor for UNB COHN program and continues to mentor students from U of C and GMU.
Juanita also has an avid interest in the law and is a Legal Nurse Consultant. As a Certified LNC her work brings challenges and rewards. She recently completed and passed the LSAT's and as usual is in a transition and contemplation stage of her career. She was honoured to receive the 2019 AOHNA Employer Award of the Year and in 2018 received the Canadian Occupational Health Nurse Award of Excellence as well as a nominee for the CARNA Award of Excellence in Business Administration.
