2020 Alberta Occupational Health Nurses Conference
The Alberta Occupational Health Nurses’ Association (AOHNA) has been closely monitoring the rapidly changing COVID-19 pandemic. The health and safety of our members, and the populations they serve, is and will remain our highest priority. Recent developments, including increased corporate and federal travel restrictions and recommendations regarding limiting mass gatherings from Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the World Health Organization (WHO), have influenced AOHNA’s Provincial Executive’s decision to cancel the 2020 AOHNA Conference and associated activities, which were scheduled for April 23 and 24, 2020, in Calgary, AB.
The AOHNA Executive acknowledges the immense amount of time and energy that our volunteers, staff, exhibitors, sponsors, and partners put into planning the annual Conference. AOHNA is investigating options to either postpone the 2020 Conference or to deliver educational content online in webinar or streaming format and will be advising members of any plans as soon as possible. Once the decision on how to proceed has been finalized, all registered attendees and sponsors will be notified and refund payments processed as necessary. More information on refund processing and options will be communicated to registrants/exhibitors/sponsors in the coming days. We appreciate your patience during this time.
We encourage adherence to the AHS guidance, recommendations, and strategies for prevention of the transmission of COVID-19 to help keep workplaces, homes, and commercial establishments safe.
A list of resources will be made available on the AOHNA COVID-19 website page. Thank you for your patience and for your commitment to the health and safety of our local and provincial communities.
